Kraft It Up- May

OK so after the last posts saying that I wouldn't be posting again before the end of the month

clearly you can't trust anything I say because I've squeezed in another challenge

for May!

Kraft It Up- the May challenge is to interview your child/children/partner about what Easter means to them...

You can use any products you wish as long as your creation is based on Kraft Cardstock or Kraft Patterned Paper...

With that In mind I asked my daughter last night what Easter meant to her and

after thinking for a long time she came up with

"Family...The holiday when Jesus died on the cross"

And using Kraft as a base I came up with this.

Using the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook range - with all the colour on my background I went with a selection of the black and white patterned papers.

bye for now. ;)

ScrapFriends Sketch and more Amy Tangerine

What ya know, I managed to do another challenge before the end of the month.
This is based on the Sketch at Scrapfriends.

I used my favorite papers at the moment -Sketchbook by Amy Tangerine

Lots of layers and mod podge and gesso and paint.
All the fun, messy stuff. :)

Clear dymo strips with a swipe of black ink to make it stand out more.

And only a couple of embellishments.
The chevron badge from Greatest View
and a Fimo flower from D-lish Scraps

And the end result.

Cheers people. :)

May Stuck Sketch and D-Lish embellies of course!!!

Oh I feel like I haven't posted in ages, it's only been a week but....
I know I haven't been visiting any blogging friends...sorry I shall try and go
visiting tonight as soon as I'm done here. :)

The reason I haven't Posted is not that I haven't been scrapping.
In fact I've been scrapping up the proverbial storm......but
unfortunately it's not anything I can share with the world yet. ;)
Haha sorry for being a tease.

.............................

Anyhow yesterday I took a break from 'those' pages and
scrapped this layout for Stuck Sketches.
This may be the only challenge page I get done this
month unfortunately.

And of course it has a whole heap of super cute embellishments from
D-Lish Scraps on it.
Including the LARGE red bloom
The Mulberry paper flower - for which I unearthed a needle and thread.
Beautiful Butterfly Bottle top - eek! can't find the link for that one - sorry!
 cute lil birdie charm.

Because the flower was quite large I actually put some of the other embellishments on top of it so that
it wouldn't look too out of place. (I have another one in hot pink that I've decided is soon to be sewn on to one of Little Miss Maggie's headbands- she'll love it!)

And some more D-Lish  ;)

Mini roses- my all time fav!

And it's not a D-Lish layout unless it has a bit -or several bits- of Washi.

The black stencilling is one of the Dylusions stencils by The Crafters Workshop
and here's the whole thing, yes me pulling odd faces at the camera!!

Just one more shameless plug before I go. ;)

If you haven't seen the soon to be released embellishment Kits by D-Lish
then you really need to head over here and take a peak!
They are seriously the cutest, loveliest things I've seen in ages.
All you could possibly need to create gorgeous layouts... except the paper!
Hence the name 'Just Add Paper Kits' by D-Lish Scraps.

That may be it for me til next month I'm afraid, got to get the nose back to the
grind-stone! Fun, Fun Fun, really it is!
At least you know in a month or so I'll be inundating blogland with heaps
of scrappy pages so you'll know to either stay away or come back and visit.
Cheers, Leonie. xx

Amy Tangerine and D-Lish

I bought the 'Sketchbook' collection of Papers by Amy Tangerine
recently and love them.

Here are two layouts I've created with them.

Used the splatter mask from The crafters workshop on this one,
with gesso and Dylusions sprays

The embellishments are all from D-Lish Scraps

For This second one I used gesso again and acrylic paints on the background

And more gorgeous D-Lish embellishments

Go 'like' the D-lish scraps facebook page to keep up to date with all the new arrivals.

You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." Amy Li

Scrapbooking from Scratch challenges

A couple a layouts to share that I did on the weekend

Our printer died a week ago and when I bought a new
one, I saved this 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardboard from the packaging.
Perfect size for a layout!
I used it to scrap the May quote challenge at scrapbooking from scratch

the felt flower is from Rainbow Splendor, so cute.
I've altered it slightly with some ink and added the black string.

Used the Spring fling Crafters workshop Stencil, one of my favourites. :)

And the second layout is for the sketch at Scrapbooking from Scratch.
Quoting my darling youngest son. The title kinda explains it all.
hehe.

thanks so much for your comments I appreciate each and everyone.
Cheers.

May Scrap The Girls

This month's challenge at Scrap the girls is
a quote by Amy Li

"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of.

You know whatever you do, they'll still be there."

I used a picture of me and my 3 sisters.

The paper butterflies I used are from D-Lish Scraps which I stamped on with an Ali Edwards stamp
and then added a resin flower to the centre.
Liquid pearls for the butterfly trail.

I've also added some D-Lish twine and a heart Medallion.
The hexagon patterned papers are from Typo, gorgeous aren't they?
The Base is MME.

go check out the rest of the CT inspiration
over here.
Have a great weekend, cheers. :)

Show Us Your Stuff- May 1st challenge.

Look at this awesome inspiration picture Show Us Your Stuff
is using for their May 1st Challenge

Using some new D-Lish goodies I received recently.
The resin flowers - these are such good value,
if you buy them in a grab bag $1 for 25 assorted colours.
Tell me that isn't a bargain!
and this funky printed bottle top, which I took to with a hammer
to flatten it out a little. ;)

and of course if i'm using D-Lish embellishments I can't go past the washi
tape. There are so many designs to choose from and i'm always thinking of different ways
to use it.  So on this layout I made a border around the layout with small strips
and then because it looked a little too bright for what I was after I finger painted some white paint over the top of the washi.

The sponsor this month at Show us You Stuff is Charms Creations. Charm
sent the Design team a gorgeous pack of lollipops so these
are my handmade item on this months layout.

As for my inspiration I used the book theme and journalled about
my eldest son finally discovering joy in reading for pleasure.
And not just something he has to do as
homework!  He's going through books so fast these
days I can't keep up, such a pleasure to see as a parent.
I also used some old book paper and black as my base as per the black
border in the inspiration picture.

Head on over to the SUYS blog and check out the other DT samples.
Lots of fabulous layouts to inspire you.

I still have a part three post coming with the rest or most of the rest of my retreat layouts.
So keep your eye out for that,
Cheers for now. :)
