Cause for Celebration...!

Wahoo coming to you live from my reconnected Internet!!
And it's Back to School for my four children today.
Thats two reasons to celebrate!!!
You just don't realise how much you come to rely on things until they're gone.

So I'm now catching up and sharing two layouts I did while we were camping.
Yes it's possible to scrap while camping!
When we weren't sweltering in the 40 plus temperatures (that's Celsius) I managed to do these layouts
using the January kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.
Which sold out rather quickly but the February kit will soon be here.

This second was me trying out the Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays which are
lovely to use.

They don't look too sad to be returning to school do they?!
They all said they had a good day and like their new teachers
so it's just good news all round today.

Now, I have loads of blogs to catch up on so i'd best be off.
Cheers,
Leonie.

2Crafty Chipboard - January Post

Hello, Wow we're flying through January aren't we?
We returned from our annual camping trip on Tuesday only to leave again the next day
on a spur of the moment two night trip down the coast.
I think what's left of January and the school holidays will be spent very close to home
preparing for school and yes Scrapping, I have plenty of that to do.

Unfortunately and not to bore you with the details (which involve some very shoddy salesmanship by a large Telecommunications company in Australia) but I returned home to find that my internet and phone had been disconnected.
So I'm now in the process of applying for a new account, email etc which I'm told will take up to two weeks! Sigh.
So if you're wondering why things are quiet here that would be the reason.

Anyhow I'd like to share my January post that went up on the 2Crafty blog a week ago.
Here it is.
...........................................

Welcome to my first post for 2013.
I hope everyone has had a joyous Christmas and New Year.
I have some bright fun layouts to share today, perfect for a fresh start to the year.

The Letterbox and the ATC Picket Fence on this page were simply painted with Gesso and lightly inked and I added our house number with some Prima stickers
The cute little birdie on the letterbox is from the birdhouse pack.

Isn't this title lovely. Home is Where Your Heart is.
I coloured it with Faber Castell Gelatos highlighting the heart in the title
with a black pen.

Although we're still in holiday mode here, it wont be long before I'm in
back to School mode so I've done a Whimsical layout using a photo
from the first day of school last year.
I used the Alphabet Frame and inked it up with
grey ink then highlighted my childrens' initials in bright colours.

I used a pack of  Critters and painted them nice bright
colours adding detail with Ranger stickles and a journalling pen

The 'grass' that the ladybird is walking on is actually cut from the flower scene.

Here's a close-up of the frame and the caterpillar from the critters pack.

The last piece of chipboard I used on this layout was the Flower Scene
it had the perfect touch of whimsy to match the critters in this layout.
I cut the flowers off the mound they were on and used it as grass for the ladybird to be walking thorough. (see above)

This last layout is one I completed for the Kraft It Up challenge blog for their January challenge.
I used one of the Tiny Funky Frames and overlapped two swirls from the Swirls and Frames Sheet to form a love heart.  I painted both lots of chipboard white and added
some opal dust for glitter effects.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my chipboard layouts
today. You can see more on my blog here
and keep up to date with everything on the 2Crafty facebook page.
Cheers, Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Show Us Your Stuff - January (Websters Pages)

I adore this range of Websters Pages papers. Fabulous designs by Alison Kreft.
I've used them to create my layout for the Show Us Your Stuff January challenge.

A picture prompt this month. Create a layout using this image as your guide incuding a handmade Item on your page. Mine is the spotty button from Catie's Craft Corner.
Lot's of options with this picture. The birds, cake, circles. I went with the chocolate and Aqua colours.
The trims that I got with this range had some aqua lace and chocolate coloured trim which matched perfectly.

Being the start of a new year I'm thinking of what my goals for 2013 will be, so
I've used this as my subject to scrap about.

Love these resin badges. I'm sure there will be plenty of scrapping happening in 2013. ;)

You can link your take on this challenge on the SUYS blog here.
Cheers,
 Leonie. :)

Kraft It Up - January

Happy New Year!
2013 is going to be awesome!
Whose set themselves some goals for this year?
I've got a few in mind. ;)

Kraft it Up have a colour Challenge to start the new year!
Here is my DT sample.

This is the colour swatch we'd like you to create a layout with using Kraft cardstock as a base.

I knew what pictures I had to scrap for this challenge as soon as I saw the colours.
Our Run Geelong shirts were this same shade of red, blue and white. So all I had to do was add some orange into the palette.
This is a 2Crafty mini funky frame which I painted white and added opal dust.

I used three different stencils on my background outlining them with gel pens to highlight
the patterns and lots of Dylusions spray droplets.
More 2Crafty Chippies, some swirls that I overlapped to form a heart.

Sadly this is my last challenge on the Kraft It Up design team. I've had a wonderful term
and enjoyed all the challenges and will definitely continue to participate.

I hope you've also got some photos you'd like to scrap using these colours.
Link your page up on the KIU blog
Cheers, Leonie.
