Distress Paint Class Page

Just popping in quickly to share a layout I did quite a while ago and I realised I hadn't shared it here.
Actually there are a couple I haven't shared so I may be back with that one tomorrow.  ;)

So, I taught this page in a technique class at Create On Ormond last week
and we're repeating the class tonight.

It's based on using Distress Paints.
I love the cool marbled effects you get with Distress paints and water.

The Kaisercraft wooden words and flourishes were slathered in texture paste for the title and embellishments.

The Stamping (Dylusions vine stamp) is with black Adirondak ink and the Distress Paints as well,
yep distress Paints are great for stamping too.

And some stencil work (Crafters Workshop) over the distress Paints.

Tip Toes

Friday's here and it's the weekend!!
And even though that means I work a night shift and sleep half of Sunday I'm always grateful for when Friday rolls around.
Sharing a layout of my daughter today and her cute little feet.
She always stands on her tip toes!

I used some quite old but still lovely Basic Grey papers.
I thought they looked good against the bright Dylusions spray ink background.

Loving these Freckled Fawn Dew Drops lately and Flair of course. ;)

Happy weekend everyone.

Paper Stories July Sketch

Hi bloggers,
has it ever taken you three weeks to finish one layout?
Well it did for me with this layout, not so much that it actually took three weeks to scrap per-se.
I actually did most of it about three weeks ago in one sitting and then it just kept getting pushed further and further down the to do list until I could finish it!
Well I finally had a chance this week to add my title and some finishing touches.

I created it for this sketch challenge at Paper Stories

The papers are Simple Stories.
How cute is that camera paper clip??
It was in a kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.

The background is created with distress paints and Dylusions stamps.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my work.

Stampede 'Fun' Run...

Hello bloggers!

I have been messing around with Dylusions Ink sprays again.
Fun! Fun!
Here's the result.

Yes that's me covered in Mud after last years Stampede obstacle course run.
We climbed walls, waded through a waist high ice bath, crawled through mud, swam through a dam, jumped over hot coals and ran through live electrical wires.
Crazy, crazy things we do!
And I never thought I'd say it but we had a great time!
Weird I know. ;)

And some close-ups.

That's a Crafters workshop Stencil and texture paste under the Dylusions sprays and some Amy Tangerine stamps.

Stuck Sketch - July

Hi, hope you've had a fab weekend!

I haven't done a Stuck sketch in ages but I did this one last weekend and haven't shared it here yet.

I love the circles on this sketch.

I added some foam dots under some of the circles to give some more dimension to the page.  The messy background is gesso, paint and a crafters workshop stencil

thanks for stopping by to check out my scrappy pages.

Gelatos Sunrise.

Welcome! :)
I'm here to share a page I created using a Faber Castell Gelatos technique I taught at
Create on Ormond last week.
I've been having such fun teaching these classes and sharing some of my favourite techniques.
I have some more layouts to share with you using some techniques I've taught lately.  They'll be coming up in the next couple of days.
I have more classes coming up in the coming weeks, all the details can be found here.

Here's my Gelatos sunrise page!

Using a wet paint brush I painted the Gelatos over this texture paste pattern
I created with the peacock feathers stencil from
The Crafters Workshop.

I then blended out the colours to extend over my page using a baby wipe, I find this the best way to blend Gelatos on cardstock, it gives a lovely smooth finish.

That's some gorgeous 2Crafty dandelions on there, I've been looking forward to using these beauties
for a while now.
Stay well bloggers,
I'll be back with those other layouts I mentioned,  later in the week.

Now on to sharing the layout I created for this month!
My soul inspiration when looking at that gorgeous mood board was the little wooden birdhouses on the bottom right.  They really appealed to me,
I loved the woodgrain and the lovely soft colour.
So I went about recreating my version of that particular image on my layout.

On the background I used Jo Sonas Decor Crackle to create the woodgrain effect and I was really happy with how it turned out.  It was so cool watching that crackle effect appear as the
top layer of paint dried!
Who said watching paint dry was boring!! ;)

I added some ink droplets in shades of pink and turquoise.

Being such a soft girly page featuring my daughter and our puppy,
I added some soft pastel coloured flowers, and some Prima lace and Mistables canvas.
The 'love' wood veneer is by Freckled Fawn.
The chicken wire chipboard is from 2Crafty Chipboard and a flair button from
 A Piece of Cake Designs.

The deadline for this challenge is midnight EST Thursday 25th July 2013.
Thanks for stopping by and I really hope you can find time to squeeze this challenge in to
your scrapbooking schedule this month.
