Once Upon a Sketch - October

Hello scrappy friends.

Sharing a page with you today that I've put together in bits and pieces
over the past couple of weeks.  In between starting and finishing other projects, working
and all the everyday happenings of life.
It seems to be the only way I get to scrap at the moment unfortunately.

So this is the page I've scrapped for the October Once Upon A Sketch.

The journalling criteria was to write about the women in your life.
My picture is of myself, my sisters and my Mum taken last Mothers Day.
I added my journalling across the top and bottom border of the page.

Here are a few close up images for you.

Prima BAP - October

Hello blogger/scrappy friends.
So I've never done a Prima - Build A Page challenge and thought I might
give it a go this month.

Here's the cool sketch for October.

This is my take on the sketch.

Can you guess where I was Inspired to start my page design?
Well it's only small but if you look in the photo at the stained glass design there's a little rose
that reminded me of the Prima Stencil with a similar rose and things just sort of flowed from there.
Funny how the tines thing can spark the whole creative process...

A gorgeous assortment of Prima Marketing flowers and
a little Junkyard findings zipper made up the bulk of my pages' embellishments.

I used a Prima stencil as I mentioned above to create the background on my page.   Along with Finnabairs' - Art Basics 3D Matte Gel which I coloured gold with Prima Color bloom spray - Gold Foil.
Droplets of water colour paints added the pink/orange colours to the background with
some light stamping.

This was the first time I got to use this Prima lace doily Metal Die-Cut with some papers from the Epiphany collection.  I cut several of the Doilies and layered then under the photo.
I tied this in with some lacey punched borders also with the Epiphany papers.

More Epiphany papers and a cute little butterfly wood embellishment that I coloured with distress inks.

thanks for stopping by. :)
Hope you like my page.

7Dots Studio Challenge

Hello scrappy friends,

I'm sharing a page I created this past weekend and its for the current challenge at
7 Dots Studio using their Messy Head range of papers.

I had a photo collage showing pictures of my Daughter the
day she got her ears pierced.
The 3 photos in the collage were about 1x4" once I'd cut them separately.
A very strange shape to scrap so I spread them out over the page and layered the Messy Head papers
under each photo.

I added in some cute similar toned embellishments, a flair button, resin and paper flowers and some enamel dots.

Black Jewelery wire was used to form the circles around each photo.
It doesn't bend out of shape and forms a perfect circle every time.

For the background I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Tres Chic range by Limor Webber which I absolutely
adore.  I've used three different stencils with texture paste as well as the Tres Chic Embossing powders.

The Journalling of course is about 'a new beginning' and reads -
"My baby girl is disappearing and in her place a young woman is beginning to grow.
It all starts with pierced ears."

So happy with how this page turned out.  Love how well the Messy Head papers matched
the Lindy's sprays and all that gorgeous texture from the different stencils.

Thanks for stopping by my blog

Bloom Girl - Sharon

Hello Scrappy People.
I drafted this post about three weeks ago but just haven't got back to finish it.
School Holidays kind of interrupted normal scheduling but I'm back into it now with
School back this week.
Yay!

So this is a page I did almost a month ago at the Delights retreat
Bloom Girl - Sharon is very gorgeous is she not?

This page was for a challenge at the retreat to use a song title or lyrics
plus the tag and music paper supplied.

The sprays are Hero Arts Neon from Sassy Scrappers.
Just love their vibrancy.
