Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge March 1st Challenge

I just recently discovered 'Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog' which
challenges you twice a month to Scrap about yourself.

The challenge for the 1st of March is to Scrap some Memories
of a school holiday that you experienced.
I though I'd give it a go because I've scrapped very little layouts about my childhood
and well... how cool is their blog name!!!! haha.

So here's my take on the challenge
using the Miss Caroline MME range

I documented about my birthday, which falls over the Christmas holidays.
This meant that we were usually away on camping trips with friends and familly for my birthday.
This particular trip was down at Lorne on the Great Ocean Rd.

Here's some close-ups for you. :)

how cute is the little cup cake button?

Cheers thanks for stopping by.

D-Lish share

Just a quick drop in to share this layout I did for D-Lish scraps.
Maggie was in the 'choir of angels' for the School Nativity Mass last year.
She told me she had really wanted to play the part of the main angel and she even
knew all of the words for the part!! Hehehe, either way she looked so cute
and very angelic!

Anyway to the layout, I used some basic grey as a base and a crafters workshop
template and distress inks and stains.

All of the embellishments I used on this layout are from D-Lish Scraps.
Amanda really has the most extensive and beautiful range of embellishments in the store.

Chiffon rose trim in white which I coloured pink

A couple of close-ups of the quote I used.

and the little dragon flies that are almost camouflaged amongst the masking.
I made these with texture paste, a crafters workshop template and coloured them with
Pebbles chalks.

Thanks for dropping by and thank you to the comments
that you leave, I appreciate each and every one.
Cheers,
Leoine.

but i've loved how my last 2 layouts have come out with it.

Here's some close-ups. :)

Some mist splats and ring marks to add texture

and I also added some real denim for more texture
the spotty button is by Lil Red Rocket.

Daring you to scrap-march

'Old school' photo's is the challenge this month at 'Daring you to Scrap'.
Photostrips or poloroids.
I chose to scrap some photobooth pics of myself!

I used a prima mask, gesso and mists to create the background on this one.

Prima resin and flower, a cute little babuska button from Catie's Craft Corner and
some lovely white splats I made with- picket fence distress stain.

This quote was on a tag at a retreat I went to.
I added some mist and inks to it jazz it up
a little.

Cheers my friends. Thanks so much for your comments I appreciate
them a lot! :)

Show Us Your Stuff -March

Show Us Your Stuff sample for March has an amazing inspiration
photo prompt for their 1st challenge.

This is my take on it.

Here's the prompt a fantastic crochet umbrella!
As soon as I saw this photo I knew I had to create some sort of rainbow on my layout
so I got busy with my mists!

The black pattern on the base is stamped on with Dylusions Stamps (seriously love those stamps)
 and
coloured in with a white gel pen.

Our sponsor this month is Jules Gems and we were sent some
lovely metal embellishments to use.
I used mine as flower centres adding a brad to each embellishment.

I also made this little banner from random Jilly-Bean Soup labels.

Don't forget our junior scrappers challenge at SUYS starts this month.
It's called Sophie's Corner.
I'm sure there are plenty of kids out there that would love to participate in a blog challenge
just like their Mum does!
All the details are HERE.

Cheers and thanks for popping by.

Scrap the Girls - Celebrations

March challenge is up over at Scrap the Girls and it's a nice easy one.
the theme is celebrations
Simply scrap a page that is about some type of celebration: birthday, anniversary,
Christmas etc.  There are some fabulous interpretations
on the Blog by the other DT girls.
Remember though, Girls only in your celebration photo's.

For my sample Layout I chose a photo of myself and 2 sweet girls, Raquel and Marelle
celebrating at Raquels' wedding last year.

I used some Tim Holtz kraft core as my base and teamed it up with
some Dear Lizzy fabric sheets which I've sewn on to my layout.

A close-up of these paper flowers which I made, pretty cool huh?
Thanks to a tutorial by Jasmine (thank-you Jas), they were white
Kaisercraft paper flowers and I misted them once they were made to match the
Dear Lizzy fabric.

and I added this cute little tag and embellishment
that were part of the wedding invitations, it tied in well with the Kraft core paper.
That pink flower is a Prima one, and I added a few Jenni Bowlin Kraft butterflies.

There are some great sponsor prizes this month at STG so I hope we get lots of entries.
There were 45 last month which is Awesome but can we beat that?
Cheers :)

pirate pics of one of my boys.

Added some Purple Pumpkin and Lil red Rocket buttons.

for no particular reason...

A couple of layouts I've done over the last month.
for no particular reason other than I wanted to document these photo's.

My Mum's 70th birthday last year

I used to dabble in decoupage...a long time ago,
and I recently came across heaps of images I had cut out but never used.

These floral ones were perfect for this pink paisley paper.

And some Prima embellishments.

And a Christmas layout using Crate paper and lil red rocket Christmas embellishments.
The Child with the Santa hat pulled over his face, well that's a whole other story/page
yet to be told!

Some journalling about the kids each wanting to put the angel on the tree every year.

and me of course taking a picture of each child doing this exact thing!
Our poor little Angel on the Tree!

Cheers, hope you've had a great weekend.

Show us Your Stuff -recipe challenge.

February 15th challenge at Show Us your Stuff is a recipe challenge

Use at least 3 pieces of patterned paper
Use 3 embellishments
Use at least 1 heart
Use some paint somewhere on your layout!

I scrapped some pictures of my second son Andrew, playing T-Ball.
I kid you not since before he could walk he has been fascinated
with ball's. When he was a toddler he gave up his cute little soft toy and slept with a football
instead!!!
He's since taken that cute lil softie back into his bed each night which I think is just the sweetest thing to do, especially for an eight year old boy. But then that's the sort of kid he is, Sweet! xx

I used washi tape from D-lish Scraps to bind the kraft shipping tags, also from
D-Lish. I then made a little banner from the tags with some twine and used this to
base my title on.

I made this flower from the October Afternoon Sarsparilla Flower Sack.
Sprinkled each layer with water and scrunched it up a little then put a
wooden button from D-Lish as the flower center.

Head over here to check out the other fabulous DT layouts.
You have until March 15th to upload your take on our recipe challenge.
Go for it!
Cheers and thank-you kindly for your comments.
much appreciated. :)

A Golden Wedding Anniversary gift

This may be the only card I make for 2012! I'm so not a card maker but as it was my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary last friday I decided to make a card for them.

I got this idea from a friends Facebook wall she'd done a similar thing for her
fathers 70th birthday. Here's a link to the blog that inspired the idea.
My sisters and I wrote, emailed, rang, and pm'd- relatives, friends, neighbors, and
old work mates of our parents.
We asked them to send us memories they had of our parents during the past fifty years.
Then we presented these to Mum and Dad on their anniversary.
We received back some beautiful, funny and heartfelt
accounts of peoples memories, Some people even sent
photo's to us which was wonderful.
There were tears and much laughter.
The grandchildren read aloud their memories of Granny and Pa,
and we took turns in reading out the others.
It was a great surprise and they loved hearing from family and friends some
of whom they hadn't seen in years.

I used a Bellah bloom from the D-Lish scraps shop
I also used the pearl spray, kraft tag, resin flower and paper doiley.
I also cut out the white tag from some of the D-Lish packaging which is part of the shops logo.

Here's how we presented our gift.

Of course on Saturday night when we celebrated their anniversary with
some family and friends it rained most of the evening!!! But we did manage to catch this photo
of Mum and Dad with their 4 Daughters, Sons-in-Law and Grandchildren. And several umbrella's!!!

Glad you liked it Mum and Dad. xox
Thanks also to everyone who sent us their memories. It was
very much appreciated.

This is what I came up with.

A little layout expressing my thanks to Mum and Dad,
who are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary
this Friday! Congratulations.
Happy Golden Anniversary to both of you. xx

Lots of Stamping and Misting on this layout and i've wet embossed with a crafters
workshop template and clear embossing powder.

Lots of yummy D-Lish embellishments on this page including the washi tape,
forget-me-not flowers, and kraft tag which I've stamped on with
a Kaisercraft texture stamp.

How gorgeous is this flower, from D-Lish of course, one of the
Bellah Blooms available in the store and some cherry blossoms.
