Show Us Your Stuff - November

Show Us Your Stuff have a great challenge this month.

simply use Yellow and Washi tape on your layout!

Plus your handmade item of course. :)

My handmade item/s are the 2Crafty chipboard hexagons which I've covered in different patterned washi tape.
I also used the hexagons which come in a sheet attached to each other as a mask on the background.
I also used washi as a border around the outer edge of the layout and folded half of the tape over the edge of the page.
Gave the page a nice finishing touch.

The fencing wire tucked behind the photos is also by 2Crafty, and I've just added a few dabs of gesso.

Another close-up of the flower flourish I used by 2Crafty Chipboard

Head over to the Show Us Your Stuff blog to see the other DT examples for November.

Scrap The Girls - November

Who's up for a colour challenge?
Scrap The Girls have one this month.
How does Teal and Orange sound?
Yes, you read right!
And it's not as hard as it sounds. ;)

Here's my sample.

The big chipboard leaf vine is from 2Crafty which I painted white.
I used some orange Patterned Paper by Amy Tangerine as my base then
I added the teal using an acrylic paint dauber.
I also did some stamping with the paint and a script stamp.

The fussy cut flowers started out blue but I added some paint to them aswell to fit the Teal criteria.

Head over to Scrap The Girls to see all the other Design Team Samples.
I'm sure you'll be completely inspired to breakout all your orange and teal stash.
Cheers. :)

Kraft It Up - NOVEMBER

Novembers challenge at Kraft It Up is
'MINIMALIST STYLE'.
Minimalism is any design or style in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect.

Well if you know anything about my style you'll understand me when I say this
was a real Challenge for me.  LOL.

I had to restrain myself from adding more or everything! More embellishments, more patterned paper!!
Just keeping it to two brads, the peacock feather, the studio calico bird and the October afternoon die cut shapes.
I like the look of kraft on kraft with the journalling strips.

  • The background was made by spraying with Dylusions Sprays on to the 'circle explosion' Crafters Workshop stencil and then laying it down on to my Kraft base.

the Kraft It Up blog has lots of other DT layouts to inspire you with this challenge.
You can see them here.
Cheers. :)
