Christmas Eve - Waiting

Happy Christmas Eve to all my Blogger Friends.
Is everyone ready for tomorrow?
I love the anticipation of Christmas Eve.
For me today is all about the waiting involved
to celebrate our Saviours birth.
Everything is ready to go for tomorrow
and it's nice to enjoy and anticipate the fun times that tomorrow
will bring.

I thought I would share the post I did for 2Crafty earlier this month.
All about Christmas of course.
Here it is.
.........................................

Gosh do I have plenty of projects to share today using
Chipboard. Better yet they are all based around the Christmas Season
which i'm sure you're aware is well and truly in full swing!

My First layout is quite traditional, using Christmas reds, greens and gold.

I cut up the Flourish Ornament Border which is usually about 8" in length.
Using the hanging baubles I layered them on top of each other. They were painted
first and then I applied some imitation gold leaf on them to give them a distressed, shabby look.

The Sitting On Santa's knee title was painted with Gesso and then stamped with a
script stamp, before adding more gold leaf and finally outlining with a gold gel pen.

I also used Ana's Vine on this layout which I painted before using some gold leaf on it too, so that all the chipboard
pieces tie in with each other.

Next are two 8x8" canvas panels depicting some scenes from
the Christmas Story.
These canvases were lots of fun to make and also something
a little different to a layout.

I used the Three Wise Men pack for this one, decorating the Wise Men with
Patterned Papers, rubbons and paints.

This pack also comes with a star which I've painted Yellow and sprinkled with
glitter and diamond dust.

The second scene depicts the Angels appearing before
the Shepherds. I used the Little Angels chipboard pack.

Patterned Paper and clear crackle paint were used on the dresses
and lots of glitter on the wings.
Plus some trims as embellishments on each
Angel.

Finally my last project this month is a
Layout created for the Show Us Your Stuff blog
using non-traditional colours on a Christmas page.
As much as Christmas themed products are lovely and fun to use
it is, still possible to create a fun Christmas page
without any themed products at all.
Why don't you give it a go?

Shirley's Frame and the Retro Stems (which actually have the stem cut off for this page)
Nice simple technique for this one - just ink and a gel pen.

As with the gold leaf in my first layout I used the same technique
on each piece of Chipboard
so everything would tie in together.

Brown ink and a doodled outline with a white gel Pen.
on the Everyday Font 12x12" Chipboard sheet

Well hopefully these projects have got you thinking about
creating your own Christmas pages.
Have you liked our 2Crafty Facebook page so you're always up to date?
You can visit my personal blog here if you wish to view any of my other work.

Cheers,
Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Merry Christmas to you all.
May the season be filled with much joy, happiness and peace in
your life.
Cheers, Leonie.

Christmas Canvases

Hello
I'd like to share some canvas panels I made for my Childrens' school teachers.
I made similar ones last year, you can see them here.
I went with four Angels this year, just because well life is so darn busy it was easier
to have a little production line happening!

I did alter the angels slightly with the embellishments used.

The kids each chose which verse they wanted on their canvas.

Love these 'Collections' butterflies!

That's it for now better go wrap them up, last day of school so I finished them just in time
for the kids to give to their teachers. Talk about cutting it fine!
Merry Christmas. :)

Kraft It Up - December

Kraft It Up have a journalling challenge for December.

"Heading towards Christmas, I would like to see a layout about what YOU want for Christmas. Now this doesnt necessarily mean presents, it could mean want you want to experience with your family or where you might like to go etc..."

of course using Kraft cardstock or Kraft patterned cardstock as the base for your layout.

My Eldest son is almost twelve and we're going through that 'tween' stage and getting a glimpse
of the teenage years that are just around the corner.
Scary!!!
The last few months have been difficult for him and me and our relationship!
So my journalling is a private letter to my son about the wishes I have for us this Summer/
Christmas break and how we can get things back on track.
I wrote it on tags and slipped them in behind the photo.

The patterned papers are My Minds Eye on the bright side.

Cheers all, and
I hope you can join in our Kraft It Up
December Challenge, take a look at the other
DT examples over here.

December - Show Us Your Stuff

This is my sample for the December challenge at SUYS.
The challenge being to scrap a Christmas page using non-traditional colours.
I think orange, brown and blue fit that criteria. ;)

The santa title and the star type shapes are 2Crafty Chipboard that I've inked and doodled on.
The Splats were made with distress stains.

So hope you can join in this months challenge.
Our sponsors this month are 2Crafty Chipboard

Show Us Your Stuff - November

Show Us Your Stuff have a great challenge this month.

simply use Yellow and Washi tape on your layout!

Plus your handmade item of course. :)

My handmade item/s are the 2Crafty chipboard hexagons which I've covered in different patterned washi tape.
I also used the hexagons which come in a sheet attached to each other as a mask on the background.
I also used washi as a border around the outer edge of the layout and folded half of the tape over the edge of the page.
Gave the page a nice finishing touch.

The fencing wire tucked behind the photos is also by 2Crafty, and I've just added a few dabs of gesso.

Another close-up of the flower flourish I used by 2Crafty Chipboard

Head over to the Show Us Your Stuff blog to see the other DT examples for November.
