A Scrappy Swap.

One last share before the end of the month, although this one is not for
a challenge but part of swap with a scrappy blogger friend.
It's actually done on a 12x12 canvas panel.
I finished it a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to blog it yet.

I used my favourite mist for shimmer effect on the flowers,- Maya Road copper metallic.
I don't know if all the Maya Road mists leave a gorgeous shimmer but this one does
and I love it.

Great Quote,
I used it on a layout a little while ago, and I also used Kraft rather than the usual white
for the journalling as it matched the brickwork

Plenty of rubbons and stamps.

Love how this turned out

Thanks for dropping by,
I'll be back tomorrow with a first of the month challenge.   :)

'Save the Date' is a new Kaisercraft paper range to be released in August.
I was lucky enough to get to use these papers which were
displayed at the recent CHA summer show in Chicago.

Ummm I went a little crazy with banners in this one! Just a little though, hehe!

I also got to create with a second range be back with those layouts
in a couple of days.
Cheers.

Creative scrappers sketch #218

I've never used one of the Creative Scrappers sketches, actually it's been quite a while
since I've scrapped with ANY sketches, bit unusual for me!

I used my July kit from A piece of cake designs
and came up with this.

The chipboard wasn't in the kit but
how cute is this lil birdie and bird house?
It's from 2Crafty.
I inked it with versacube inks and then used a Tim Holtz distress marker
to sketch a woodgrain on the bird house.
I did the same with the barbed wire, also
from 2Crafty.

Thanks for stopping by, next post will be a big one, sharing some of the Kaisercraft layouts that I had
displayed at CHA. :))

announcement....

The new design team was announced today over at Kraft It Up
and guess who's on the team?
Yayay!
I'm so absolutely stoked to be part of this team of extremely talented scrapbookers.
Starting August 2012 - January 2013

go and check out the announcement here.

If you haven't been to Kraft it Up recently it's had a blog Make-over and looks fabulous!
I love scrapping with Kraft cardstock, if you do too why not take part in Julys'
challenge there is still 6 days left.
July's challenge is -

This month we want to see a layout that tells a story of something you want/wish to do in the future...
* Think bucketlists, lifelong wishes etc...
Your layout needs to be created on Kraft patterned paper or Kraft cardstock and MUST have journaling.

Thanks for stopping by. Cheers.

Just Because....it's not all warm and fuzzy all the time.

I've had the idea for this layout in my head and in the notes app of my phone for about 6 months!!!
Just hadn't got round to doing it.

It's about the charming little phrases that come out of the mouth of a certain
seven year old when things don't go her way.
There's quite a bit of this heard around here these days and sometimes it's really quite loud especially when accompanied by the most forced wailing i've ever heard.....sigh.
We do our best to just close the bedroom door on it and ignore!

So last week I spent the day with a girlfriend scrapping and
catching up and this is what I did.
It's good to keep things real, we can't always scrap
about the warm fuzzy stuff!

These pictures were captured mid-sulk doing the 'sulk' walk while we were away last January.

I used my July kit from 'a piece of cake designs'
Lot's of gorgeous papers to work with.

thanks for dropping by, cheers. :)

Some Smashing!!!

Hi, I've been busy scrapping but unfortunately nothing that I can share here on my Blog. Well not 'til next month anyway.

I was reading a friend's Blog yesterday. Janina runs an awesome handmade craft market in Geelong,  Piccadilly Market.
She posted about Smash Journals and I realised that although i haven't done a lot of 'smashing' I haven't shared any of them here.

I hope you enjoy your Smashing Janina. :)

And a couple of sneaks of what's to come next month. ;)

If you want to see the fabulous Piccadilly Market in action the next one is on

29th July
Deakin University Waterfront campus,
Geelong.

Cheers. :)

123 its July

Half way through July. Up to date with all my DT stuff-well sort off!
So I decided to do a challenge and chose the 123 challenge for July which is
to use the colour Purple, Chevron pattern and the word 'My'

Maggie was pretty stoked to get matching dresses for her and her baby!
A present from Granny Bee.

I used some 2crafty alpha's- inked them purple, then painted
some stickles over the top and doodled around the edge with a
white Gel pen.

the Chevron pattern using the crafters workshop template and gesso and
mists

This corner frame is also from 2Crafty. I used it as a trellis and twisted some
Flowers and leaves around it.

Back to school tomorrow for my Kiddos.
Woohoo! Off to get organised and make lunches etc
Cheers. :)

ScrapFriends Guest Designer

Remember this LO- Mojito Time
I did it for the May sketch at ScrapFriends and it was voted in the top 3!! Yay!!!
I was invited to be a guest designer for the ScrapFriends July sketch.

Which is this little beauty!

Here's my take on the sketch.
Using some MME paper as a base I added gesso and combed through it to add texture, then added
distress inks with a crafters workshop mask.

The embellishments are a mixture of D-Lish, Studio Calico (those cute wooden cameras), basic grey brads and a starburst badge from The Greatest View.

You have until the 31st July to enter  here.
Cheers. :)

Savvy CC layouts.

Last week I did a few layouts for the Scrapbook Savvy Cyber crop.

This one was based on a sketch.
I used some of my 2crafty chipboard stash on this one.
The title and the black flowers.

and a Black and White plus one challenge-
getting quite handy at these. Third one in two months!
Oh and an extra criteria was to use a number in your title.

And a recipe challenge

Short and sweet today, school holidays and work are tiring!
Cheers.

Daring You To Scrap - July

Hi, just dropping in quickly to post my sample for the July challenge at Daring You To Scrap

The challenge this month is to to use twine and Washi tape or some other type if you don't
happen to have any Washi.

Another Christmas in July layout! :)
I did originally have the twine looped all over my page and sprayed it to use as a mask.
It did look kind of cool then I covered it all up with other stamping and misting! whoops!

So I used some more twine (christmas twine at that, love it!) around the rosette.
I also doubled it up and twisted it on itself to loop across the page.

The washi- I used some random strips to stick elements onto the page and also as a border around each photo.

So twine and washi! An easy challenge to do don't you think?
Hope to see lots of entries linked over here.

Cheers.

Show Us Your Stuff - July

Well it's Day one of the school holidays and I
have had a shocking headache all day!
Caused through lake of sleep I think not the kids, although
their usual level of loud hasn't helped!
Haha, it doesn't not bode well for me!

ok onto the scrappy stuff.

How funky is this paper typewriter?
Well this is the prompt you need to use to create a layout for July
at Show Us Your Stuff.
Plus of course you need to have a handmade item of some type on your layout
as per usual.

Here's my sample.

I went with the colours of the keys and a dot template from
crafters workshop as my inspiration from the picture.
You'll see I've gone with a bit of a 'Christmas in July' theme with
my recent layouts. It's only taken me seven months to get to them!

Here's my handmade item, a pinwheel from 'rainbow splendor'.
I've also got a tissue paper flower and a canvas heart on there too.

My journalling is typed with my little 'Stott' portable typewriter.
My Dad picked it up for me at a second hand market for only $5, what a Bargain!
Thank-you Dad! :)

So that's another way the picture inspired me with my layout.

Go take a look at the other Creative team inspiration for this challenge
on the SUYS blog.
In case you haven't read it on the SUYS blog I want to let you know that as of this month we are only
having the one challenge which will run for the entire month. So I hope we get lots of
entries. You have until the July 31st to link your LO.

Of course we still have our Sophie's corner challenge each month for junior scrappers.
So if the kids would like to scrap a blog challenge just like mum, here's their chance.
Great time for it too if your kids are on holidays too.
bye for now.  :)

Scrap The Girls - July

Scrap the Girls- July Challenge is up over here

July's challenge is

BLACK, WHITE AND ONE OTHER COLOUR.

Here's my CT Layout.
Using Red as my other colour.

Using up some of my fabric button stash.

Did you notice anything different about this Layout?
Not a sign of paint or stencil/masking anywhere!!
First time in ages I've done such a 'Clean' layout. ha!
There is a little ink, used with the cherish Kaisercraft stamp but that's it.

Hope you can take part in this months STG's challenge
thanks for stopping by.
Cheers.
