Scrapping last Summer.

Hiya all.
dropping in for a quick share before the end of the month.
I need to get the rest of these layouts up here or it'll never get done and besides I have a heap of
new things to share come the start of November.  ;)

I can't believe I'm still scrapping pictures from last summer holidays!  It's nearly time
for this years holiday, oh I can't wait!
Anyhow a couple of pics I scrapped recently.
Andy spent a large portion of the time listening to Test Cricket on the radio!  Just like his Dad!

And another of the kids messing about in the water.

See ya
Be Back on the 1st of the month. :)

Drawing with Dylusions Inks

Hello, still playing catch up with shares on here.
This is one I scrapped at retreat earlier this month.
Some pictures from camping last summer, I wanted to use all the colours that reminded me of the
river so there are lots of different greens and red's and yellow for the heat of the sun.

I used Dylusions ink sprays on the background and let some of them drip across the page.  Most of the fine lines I made using a technique I saw by Dyan Reavely in a Youtube video.
You unscrew the spray nozzle and use the pointy end of the straw to draw lines.
It looks really effective and something a bit different.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

Scraplifting Myself...

Yep I scraplifted myself!!
Why?
Well it's not the first time I've done it, sometimes if I'm lacking mojo
I will look at previous layouts and pick a favourite and copy it.
I guess it's sort of going by the adage of, 'if it aint broke don't fix it'!
Well if it's a page I really like I will use it as a base to start
a new page and they usually end up slightly different anyway.

Years ago when I was scrapping the twins baby photo's and because they were invariably both in the same photograph I would scrap two near identical layouts, one for each of their albums!
So yes I've scraplifted myself plenty of times before.
This time it was because I created a layout for someone else and totally loved how it turned out.
I knew I was going to create the same or similar page for myself one day.

Here's the original I created for Lisa Oxely.
the original post is here.

And here's my scraplifted version.

This flower started out bright yellow but with enough Dylusions sprays I guess you can cover anything!

The title is a quote from my daughter.  Totally random, out of the blue
but very sweet and cute.  I had to document it.

The background is done with a Prima Finnabair butterfly Stencil, Crayola watercolours
and random rubons.

Do you scraplift yourself often? sometimes? ever?

Thanks for stopping by. :)

Scrapfriends October Sketch

Hello, I remembered I haven't shared quite a few layouts from the retreat I went on at the beginning of the month.  Just too much happening at the moment.
Last term at school for the year and there are lots of various events already and it's only October!
For instance tonight I'm off to an information evening for my eldest who starts high school next year!
Eeeeekk! Last night was my niece High School Graduation, Sunday was my sons confirmation.
School Art Show next week,
then there's cricket and hockey training and.... ugh it goes on and on.

On to my page though, which is for the ScrapFriends October Sketch.
A picture from our Sydney trip last year,
I had the Bridge and a Manly Ferry all lined up and a Seagull
flew through my shot!  Hence the title 'Seagull Photo Bomb'! ;D

Really not too sure about this page, it started out life with the stencilling in green and gold.  which I didn't like and proceeded to Gesso over the lot and then I just kept adding various things
Gelatos, stamping, rubons etc until I was satisfied with it.
Maybe my opinion is coloured by having seen the green and gold version but I'm still not sure
the blue and red is working either! Ah well.

Close up of some of the stamping and rubons.

Here's the sketch itself.

Thanks for looking and take care.

Retreat Selfie

One of the many Challenges at the Savvy Delights retreat in September was to
take a Selfie with the Instax camera provided and then scrap that selfie.
Cool huh!
Of course now I want an Instax camera. Lol
Maybe hubby will read this and surprise me for Christmas. ;)

Here's my take on the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to see my work. :)

Savvy Delights Retreat layout.

Hi bloggers,
I'm sharing a layout I made in September at the Savvy Delights retreat.
Just take a look at this group of Super Scrappy ladies.
And the date has been set for next year so I'm going to pay my deposit and get in quick
it was such a great weekend.

I used quite a thick coating of crackle medium on the background  and the next day when it was dry I sprayed with Dylusions.

Another layout from the same weekend also with some crackle accents on the chipboard circles.
and more dylusions with a Crafters workshop stencil.

Just another call out to the winner of my prize in the Sassy Scrappers blog hop
I haven't heard from you yet.

Anne-Louise Congratulations can you email me your
details and I'll post the RAK out to you. :)

S'traya Day Yobs!

A photo of my 'darlings' last January taken on Australia day.
All behaving like a bunch of Yobbo's!!
Honestly I don't know how I cope sometimes, how's a scrapbooker supposed to
take a decent photo she can scrap when children behave like this!?
So I just scrapped it anyway of course! ;)

For those unfamilar with the term Yobbo the Urban diction defines it as:
Aussie slang for Young Offensive Bloke.  An Australian lout, generally uncouth, prone to swearing and constant use of Aussie vernacular.  A person with no class, no fashion sense...

Some Clean and Simple

Hi
I just wanted to share a few pages that I did at last months Savvy Delights retreat.
I know they don't look like my usual style.
Why?
Well although I love adding lots of mediums and multiple techniques to pages
I don't always have the time to spend hours on a layout and there are photo's and stories that I just
want to get documented.

So here are a few pages - Clean and Simple!

My son showing me that according to Bear Grills this is how you are supposed to go into a forward roll when you fall from something - a fence in this case!

Just a selfie with one of my boys while enjoying the spring sunshine at the park.  He loves being up-close and snuggling any chance he can get this one.

A fun day spent showing the kids around Circular Quay and The Rocks last year.

My kids went back to school today for the last term of the year.
So it's very quite here this morning.
I'm off to bask in the peace,  Happy Monday to you all.
:)

Show Us Your Stuff October Challenge.

Hello Blogger friends,
as always I thank you so much for stopping by to see my work.
I love to read the comments you leave it always makes me happy to hear your thoughts
on my scrapbooking so I do thank you sincerely for that. :)

I'm sharing my page today for Show Us Your Stuff October challenge.
This month we would like you to create a multiphoto page with one or more arrows on it.

My handmade item is the flair from Flutterby Designz who are also the sponsor for this month at SUYS
Flutterby Designz very kindly gave each of us designers a little pack of goodies to use on our layouts.
I actually had plenty left over to use on other projects as well so thank you very much. :)
Please pay them a visit to check out the wide range of Flair buttons they have available.
I have a little wood veneer arrow there plus I guess you could count the stencil work, herringbone sort of looks like arrows doesn't it?!

Hope you can play along link up your pages here.
