actions

I find Editing photo's can be a real pain, so mostly i just don't bother.  Only because i find it time consuming and after having photoshop on our computer for the past 3 years i find there is just so much to learn it's all quite bewildering.
I came accross these great actions to use with photoshop but could never get them to work until recently with a tip from Leah it gave me another push to try again and wow i finally worked out how to use these presets and am loving them so far.

Here's a before

and an after using the colour pop action

and another before

and after

there are so many different effects you can apply. now i've just got to install all the presets i've downloaded and have a play around with them. Fun !!!!

I even won the opening night challenge last month for my 'contrary' LO in this post.

Was i silly or Clever?

Was I silly to proclaim to my kids at the end of the first masterchef series (they're obseesed by that show) that i once made a croquembuche for mine and their Dads engagement party?

Well they thought this was pretty fascinating that Mum could create something like that and they actually didn't believe me!! shocked! would i ever tell a lie to my kids? (i really did make a croquembuche for my engagement cake you know)!

So was i even sillier to accept their dares and prove that i could make a croquembuche?
Well maybe i was because i accepted the dare and promised i would make a croquembuche .......before the end of the 2nd season of masterchef,  (don't tell anyone but i added this proviso believing they would soon forget).
Ha!!! of course they didn't forget and reminded me of my promise at least once a week during the 2nd season of the tv show.
Kids never forget a promise especially when it involves dessert!
so on the night of the big Masterchef Finale i created this super scrumptious dessert. YUMmmmmmm
I didn't have any sugared violets so I used daphne flowers from the garden as decoration (which mum tells me are poisonous, but we're all still alive and kicking, phew!).
My Daughter pointed out that that there was no butterfly (like on the tv one)
but she and the boys still gave me a 9 out of 10!!!

So was i Silly to make a rash promise to my kids?
In this case I think I was bloody clever!!!

july was a productive month

At the beginning of July I set myself a goal of 15 layouts, which included various challenges.
Well by the middle of July i had to revise that goal as i had already surpassed it. Yay me!
by the 31st i had a grand total of 30 LO's. almost one a day!
so here are some of the lo's i created towards the end of July
The first 3 are challenges  Bons cybercrop
The colour challenge(red black white and cream) + finger painting and something off the page (lace).

The Scraplift Lifted from Mal Gardener (man i love her paint border)
extra yay i won a store voucher for this one.

And the sketch challenge by Charm.
This was a just because LO i did in July. Mainly because i really wanted to do something really flowery and girly

And a july kit LO from bons

august kits go on sale tonight or tomorrow here woohoo can't wait for my kit sub.
so that was july a very productive month, mmm will i do as many in August? It's the 3rd i i haven't
done any yet better get cracking!

Scrap the Boys

This is my LO for the july Scrap the Boys challenge.
A layout with 'just the facts' about a boy in your life.
So here are Will's 'vital stats' at 9 years of age, his likes and some dislikes.
Most of the materials used were from Bons july boy kit

a lollypop flower from an etsy store 'chip chop shop'

for all the 'facts' i decided to randomly doodle them on to the BG oliver paper

tfl.
Leonie.

i've been doing some of the July Challenges over at SBT 50 and so this is the
July class by the very talented Charmane Koch. See the title
we had to download a font off the net, print our title out on to cardstock and cut it out.
pretty happy with mine:).
I've decided to scrap all of my avatar photo's for this year. I have a new avatar picture each month
so I should have 12 LO's done by the end of the year(well that's the plan anyway!!) and I thought I would just put some random
happenings for that month on each LO.

The theme for march was to have something green on your AV picture for St. Paddy
Jurnalling about March!

And this LO I created for the ROTM at bons.
This is the room we had to take inspiration from.
So I took my inspiration from the pink white and polka dots.
What a gorgeous room hey?
I Love this script card, it was packaging from some Girls Parperie flowers.
And that's all for now, but stay tuned because the next 7 days is Cyber Crop
at bons
so lots of challenges and fun to be had over here.
tfl.
And oh thanks for the lovely coments on my blog ladies. much appreciated. If you want
to follow my blog that would be cool also. lol

lots of srcapping

woohoo getting heaps of scrapping done in the last few days.
These first two are for the Cyber Crop happening at SBT 50 for the next week.

There are still some more Challenges I would like to get done, cross fingers i get the time!

This one is with the JUly Girl Kit at Bons Scraps
And this one is for the 123 Challenge Blog. July's Challenge criteria were Red, Grunge and the word Passion.
So i've Sanded, ripped, distressed, misted, painted, sewn, stamped and even used some crackle paint. ( A first for me)
Do you think it's grungy enough?

This is the crackle paint on the title letters. I was pretty happy with the result. The tweedlybitz Alphas are even called grunge, happy coincidence i had them in my stash. lol
And lastly another girl kit LO for Bons

How cute is this little sweetie on the swing?

And that's it for now.
Take care.

july challenges

Here are some LO's i've completed over the last week for July challenges over at
Bons Scraps

This is for the Paper of the Month Challenge (POTM).
Create a LO using this October Afternoon paper.
I used some photo's of Andrew on our Trampoline playing 'Marco Polo'.
I thought the pics and title suited the map theme of the paper.

And this one is a kit Layout using the Gorgeous July Boy Kitf rom
Bons
some more pics of Andrew, this time at last years school sports day!

at last...found some time

Finally found some time to scrap!
Have been doing this LO for about a week.
hate scrapping like this but just been so busy
i've only been able to do a bit here and there.

Everything except the flowers are from Bons june girl kit.
which is just awesome btw!

I often struggle at finding meaningful journalling, but
occaisionally i come up trumps!
I guess this LO was one of those times
Very happy with this one:)
