last minute layouts

Well not quite last MINUTE - who can scrap a layout in minutes, certainly not me.
But the last weekend for January I got to spend away at a retreat with some scrap booking friends.
I had a lovely time thank-you; Malinda, Melissa and Jasmine, it was just what I needed at
the end of the school holidays to recharge the batteries before the beginning of Term 1.
I managed to scrap 10 layouts, two of which were for january challenges.

This first one is for Daring You To Scrap- a brand new challenge blog and the theme for january
was to use 'paper scraps to create a background'.

I used lots of scraps of an Echo Park paper range I had all but used up. Then I gessoed over the top of it all. such a quick easy method to create a background. Then I added some bubble wrap stamping with paint and some Dylusions border stamps (love those stamps).

And this layout of two of my gorgeous boys holding their footy trophies, is for Anna's Craft Cupboard
January Sketch.

I used some of my recently purchased Washi tapes from D-Lish scraps. Oh I love all the colours and
patterns available in the store. How gorgeous are these red dots and checks?!

I'll be back to share some more of my layouts later in the week.
Cheers. :)

finally scrapped some challenges...

I Scrapped yesterday! A layout for the quote challenge at Scrapbook Savvy.
I love the bright colours in this.

a cute lil telephone button from my stash, the resin roses are websters and the large button
is from Catie's Craft Corner- Catie's having a big sale starting tomorrow so
if you want to grab some gorgeous handmade items check it out here
31% off storewide!

For the background I used a crafters workshop template, distress inks, paint and
a woven plastic drawer liner for the texture in the paint.

This one is for Scrap the boys - January challenge about
favourite summer activities. Which I actually did a couple of weeks ago
but hadn't photographed til now.

A twine bow ala the gorgeous Chantal. Been seeing these on your pages
lately and think they look fabbo!

And the last is for stuck sketches 1st January sketch.
I've used some Lil Red Rocket buttons on this layout.
And guess what Lil Red Rockets January sale is on tonight.
OMGosh the sneaks on facebook for this sale look
COMPLETELY Awesome!!!

Bye for now. :)

More D-Lish

Wow it was a bit hot here today, still is actually.
Maybe some snow will help cool me down, well some pictures of snow play at least!

Here's my latest D-Lish scraps later that I have to share. Some pictures of my daughter throwing snowballs during her first trip to the snow.
Let me tell you the snow was very, very thin on the ground!
But it was still her first experience of snow and all the kids had a ball on the toboggan run at Mt Buller.
Hopefully next time we go there will be a little more of the white stuff to play with.

 The products I used were;

The pearl sprays reminded me of tiny little snowballs so I thought they matched well on this layout
and the roses were originally pale pink but I wanted some blue tones so I just swiped a blue
versa cube ink across the top of the rose.
and the little forget-me-nots are so cute, love them.

                 resin flower http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/c/123/Resin-Flower-Packs.html
And then there was this lovely resin flower, I love it's heart shape with just a touch of glitter to it.

Hope you like :)
cheers.

D-LISHiousness

Hi all, we're back from our holiday. We spent two wonderful weeks camping by the Murray river in NSW. The weather was warm to hot- yay! We swam and lazed about most of the time, in a hurry to
do nothing at all.  Of course i've spent the last week washing all the clothes and bedding we took with us
but thats ok-all part of the camping experience.  Like having to wash my hair 2 or 3 times before I could get rid of the campfire smell, hehe.

Before I left I managed to find some time to start creating with a fabulous pack of D-Lish goodies
sent to me. This is the first layout I created.

How gorgeous are these ribbon carnations?
There are also cabbage roses, and camellias among others available here

I used a diecut shape as a mask and gesso to create the butterflies and added rhinestones for the bodies.

Here's a close-up of the metal birdcage, so sweet and there's a whole range of metal embellishments in the store.

Now that I'm getting on top of the washing I promise to start back visiting all my fave blogs.
Can't wait to see what you've all been up to. :)
Be back tomorrow with another D-Lish layout.

and lastly a little pic of the beach we spent our days at on the Murray, can't wait to do it all again next year.

Other products I used were:

Happy New Year and some Super Duper Exciting News!!!!

Happy New Year to you all. I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas surrounded by family and friends and lets hope 2012 is full of new challenges and opportunities for us all to enjoy.

Things are working out quite well for me in the opportunity department so far.  In December I was given an awesome opportunity when I applied for a position on a Design team of a most fabulous online scrapbooking store.

I am so happy to part of the D-lish design team for the next 6 months.

If you haven't seen the D-lish store you seriously need to check it out. Amanda's store specialises in embellishments for scrapbooking, cardmaking and other crafts.

D-Lish is here on facebook too so go like that page to be kept up to date with all new stock that arrives.

I've already been having some fun creating with some gorgeous D-lish products which I'll share in the coming weeks.

Cheers. :)
