I'm here today to share the January Mood board challenge

at Scrap Around the World.

Designed by Kim Ewins it has lovely soft colours and a definite beach feel to it.

Here's my take on the mood board.

Aswell as the obvious beach photo, I was drawn in by the bunch of white flowers 

and the sprig of green foliage in the bicycles' basket.

And some chip board painted and embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and embossing powders.

Once Upon a Sketch - December

Hello and Merry Christmas to all my Blogging friends.  Sorry if I have been absent lately my  computer is away getting fixed so I'm posting from a very old laptop which has been quite a trial. But amongst all the busyness of Christmas I did find some time (very late at night) to create a page and card.
I had lots of yummy papers from Pink Paislee after attending the Heidi Swapp and Kim Jeffries  class in Melbourne in November.
So this page is using a mix of Color Wash and Mixed Company papers and embellishments. It's for the current sketch challenge at Once Upon A Sketch.  My Journalling is based on the criteria of 'my favourite month' A list of all the things I love about January.  

Here's the Sketch my layout is based on.

The picture on my page is a print of one of my Instagram photo's capturing a lovely sunset on the Great Ocean Road at Lorne last January.

So I loved this Insta title.

My embellishment cluster is made up of flowers, some of them altered with Color Shine sprays

I love the ephemera packs and resist diecuts.

  

 And while I had all these lovely papers out I put together this little Mixed Media 

Birthday Card for my Daughter whose birthday is in my favourite month. ;)

Show Us Your Stuff - December

Hello and welcome to my Show Us Your Stuff post for our December challenge.

We'd like you to use the word JOY on a page along with the usual hand made item. 

I used a crafters workshop stencil with the word Joy and created a 

shawdow effect using black and silver Gelatos. 

My handmade item are these Christmas trees. 

Created using the same stencil and shadow effect as for the word Joy. 

I also sprinkled them with glitter and used foam tape to elevate a couple of the trees.

Scrap Around The World - December

The December SATW challenge is up.  Read all about it below. 

We all know how busy the month of December is SO we are changing our rules FOR THIS MONTH ONLY - we are allowing TAGS and ATC's!!  And there is NO LIMIT on the size of your layouts, canvases or art journal spreads!!  You can even do a single art journal page!!  We understand that this month is about spending time with your families, creating memories to be scrapped in the future, so we are trying to help you save time & still get the chance to be creative, just in a shorter time frame if necessary!!

Here's my take on Zanka's gorgeous mood board.  I used the Messy Head range of papers from 7Dots. (who as you will see below are offering the most amazing prize to our December Winner)  I love these papers they're so easy to put together and great for backgrounds!

*The word 'clan' in my title was an after thought but I forgot to remove the apostrophe and the S before I photographed it.  Trust me though both the apostrophe and the S are no longer there!


As you can see I was inspired by the gilt edged frames in the mood board.
so I've added plenty of metallic paint to chipboard frames, my title and even the stencilled background.

Below is one of those happy scrappy accidents that occur from time to time.

I used a photo overlay from the Maggie Holmes Collection Flea Market. 

See the rolled corner?  Well if you get your heat gun too close to plastic it melts doesn't it? ;D

 Lucky for me I quite like the curled corner and I could totally tell you all it was deliberate

except you already know otherwise now!!

Hello Scrappy friends.

Earlier this month I shared this layout for the current Challenge at Scrap Around the World.

I've really enjoyed looking at all the entries roll in for this challenge for which I created the mood board below.   So many fabulous bright colourful pages it's been a delight to look at them all.

Metallic Gelatos

First Set of Gelatos I ever bought were the metallic ones.

They're still my favourite I think and that first set is still going almost two years later.
