Molossi Mood Board.

Hello!
The Molossi Mood Board for May had some gorgeous
colours and patterns that I just had to try and recreate some of them on a scrapbook page.
Here's the board.
And this is the page I scrapped.
I drew inspiration from the texture and patterns in image number 3; the gold tones in image number 5; and the general blue/red colours.
Here's the page I scrapped.

The background is made up mostly of Izink inks from Sassy Scrapper.
I've also used some Heidi Swapp colour Shine sprays on there.

These Lace butterfly stickers were a find from a discount store!
Gosh, I love picking up little bits and bobs from dollar shops to
use on my scrapbook pages these stickers were so fine they blended into the background so well.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sassy Sneak and a Video

Hi.  Yes, I know I've shared this page here already this month.
It's for Imaginarium Designs Chipboard and the current Page Drafts 'One Of A Kind' challenge.
However what I didn't share at the beginning of the month was the process video further down.
So I hope you might like to take a look at how this page came about.

This one below is my second May page for Imaginarium Designs that
I shared on their blog over the weekend.
Lots of fun with stencils on this one.

And because it's Wednesday here's a little sneak of my page that has gone up over there this morning.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

April Sassy Scrappers Pages

Did you know there were five Wednesdays in April?
Each Wednesday I post a page on the Sassy Scrappers blog.
So last month I posted five pages using products and
paper collections that you can find in the Sassy Shop.

So here they all are together, my April pages for Sassy.

The Amy Tan - Plus One collection really is so fun, colourful and easy to use.

Really glad I spent the time fussy cutting those flowers, so happy with how they turned out.

Lemon Lush from Studio Calico, another fun bright range.

The Prima Instascrap range, really easy page to put together.  These cards were so cute!

And the last one also using the Instascrap range and some stencilling with inks and texture.

So that was my April at Sassy and of course today being the first
Wednesday in May...Yep you guessed it!
If you head over HERE you can see my first May page with the super gorgeous Basic Grey Highline collection.

Imaginarium Designs and Page Drafts Team Up.

Hello I have a layout to share today that is part of a collaboration between

The Imaginarium Designs team of Designers were asked to create a page using any one of the May Sketches from Page Drafts.
As well as using one of the sketches the theme was to scrap something 'One of a Kind'
I chose a one of a kind weekend retreat!

Here is the May Sketch pack from Page Drafts.
I think it's fairly obvious which one I used. ;)
You can see all of the other pages created by the Imaginarium team
on the Page Drafts blog HERE

All the details on how you can join in are set out below.

Okay so here is the...
CHALLENGE CRITERIA
Its all about celebrating that
'ONE OF A KIND'
extraordinary someone, something, experience or event!

THEME
You can of course scrap about your beautiful mother,  the experience and wonderment of motherhood or maternal bonds that are the glue that keeps your family together, but lets keep that optional. You may instead want to scrap about something extraordinary or that special something because its unique and there is nothing else quite like it. Or alternatively you could include the phrase 'ONE OF A KIND' in your title work, journaling and or quote.

PICK A TEMPLATE
You must use one of the 5 sketches from the 'ONE OF A KIND'  Page Drafts Release #30.
You may rotate the sketches any which way your heart desires however your creation must remain as close as possible to the original sketch design.
NB: You are more than welcome to submit more than one page, digital, traditional, cards and canvas are all welcome
so long as your project clearly shows a sketch has been used from release #30.

FOLLOW PAGE DRAFTS
If you havent already, follow both the Page Drafts Blog by clicking on the followers tab above and follow the Page Drafts Facebook Page . Do the same for Imaginarium Designs Blog along with the Imaginarium Designs Facebook Page.
NB:This is crucial to submitting your entry and being in the running for one of the 3 prize packs.

SHARE YOUR CREATION
Share your finished project no later than 31st May 2014 Australian EST on the Page Drafts facebook page, you can only do this if you are following the Page Drafts page. The page will then be featured and shared in the special 'ONE OF A KIND' 2014 Album. This is where the judges will be able to view and deliberate over your beautiful creations.
NB: If you do not use facebook thats fine, simply email your pages to justagirlwithideas@hotmail.com
or alternatively if you blogged about your artwork link us up in the comments field below.

This competition is open to everyone everywhere!

There are three fabulous Imaginarium Designs Chipboard prize packs to be won.  I hope you can
join in at Page Drafts this month.
Thanks for stopping by.

'One Rainy June Afternoon 1998' - For Once Upon A Sketch and 7 Dots Studio

Hello all!
I had some time over this past weekend to do some scrapping and I decided to do the Challenge
at Once Upon A...Sketch.   I've done a couple of the sketches here over the last months and I must say
I really like that they get me thinking about my journalling and ensuring it's meaningful.
I love scrapping for the pure enjoyment of playing with paper and and stencils and mediums -
yes all the fun messy stuff!  But it's easy to lose sight of the memory keeping side of scrapping amongst all that product so I'm thankful that this challenge is
'keeping me honest' I guess you could say.

Here's the sketch for April.
Journalling Theme: "An event that changed my life..."

I've also used the current challenge at 7 Dots Studio
 "April showers bring May flowers"

Here's what I created.
'One Rainy June Afternoon 1998'
I scrapped a current picture of my Husband and I but as you'll see further down it's about
a mementous day we shared in 1998 which I have no pictures from - pre-digital - so we didn't take
thousands of photo's back then!
Another reason to be thankful for this challenge.
I would never, normally have scrapped this memory because I had no photo of it!

As per the flower theme from the 7 Dots Studio challenge I've included lots of flowers on
my page.  Most of them I've altered either by adding Prima Chalk ink or Colour Shine sprays, layering them on top of each other and securing with a brad to make a larger flower.

These close ups are of the background work using Izink inks and Luminarte Elementals.
On the background I've also used one of the newer Prima Stencils with modelling paste and
rubbons for texture.

The papers layered behind my photo's are from the 7 Dots Studio,
9th Wave collection and the base paper is from the
Messy Head collection.

Here's my Journalling.  There was a lot!!
So I printed it out on three tags and stuck them together with tape so it can all be folded and slipped behind the photo.   I guess it's basically all about the day my Husband and I decided to commit to each other,  eighteen months after this day we got married and started our family.
It amazes me -because my memory of past events is usually not the best- that I can remember little details about this day so many years later. The rain, the football match - I guess it just shows that it was a pivotal moment in our lives.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my blog.
