November sneaks....

Hi, what a glorious sunny day it's been in my neck of the woods.
I've finished all my scrappy commitments for next month. Yay!!!
However with only one day left in the month it didn't leave me much time for
any extra scrapping to share.  But I'm happy and excited with
what I have achieved this month.

So I thought I would show a few sneaks of what you can look forward to seeing here next month.

Chipboard and Amy Tangerine.

Stamping with stencils!

More Amy Tangerine, more stamping and paint!!

Washi, Mixed Media. Happy Days!

So there you go!! Hope to see you back on the first of the month.
Cheers. :)

Scrapbook Savvy October Cybercrop

October is reaching it's end but I feel like I have shared very little of
what I've been scrapping.
I have been doing plenty of DT and secret squirrel scrapping which
although lots of fun it hasn't allowed me to take part in many challenges
to share here.  So you're going to have to wait for while before seeing
all that.

Anyhow this past week I took a break from all that and
took part in the cybercrop at Scrapbook Savvy.

This first is the colour challenge using some papers from Websters Pages.
I don't often use their papers but I got some recently and I particularly like this range
much different to what I usually envision with their ranges.

the Sketch using Basic Greys 'Clippings' range

And this last layout using My Minds Eye papers
The criteria was to use polka dots, staples, and song lyrics and/or title
I spent ages flicking through our ITunes Library looking for
a song to use and finally came across this one by
'The Bangles'.  It summed up what I wanted to say
perfectly.

cheers that's it for now.

2Crafty Chipboard Share

Hi,
just thought I'd share my post on the 2Crafty Blog from last week.

*****************

Hello 2Crafty fans and welcome to my October post, can you
 believe it's October already.
The past two months have been a bit of a blur for me and now
we're into the last term of school for the year,
so it's only going to get busier!

My big tip for today is prime your chipboard
All of the chipboard I used on these layouts has first been
given a coat of Gesso.
If you're going to colour your chipboard in anyway
I find that a primer of gesso prevents whatever medium you are using
from soaking into the chipboard too much and hence
you get much more intense colours.

OK let me show you what I've been doing with the 2Crafty chipboard.

I found that by keeping the Title black it contrasted and stood out from the pretty blues and yellows in the layout, it also provided a simple foil for the rest of the detailed embellishments.

I used the 11" Flowery Swirl Frame and added texture paste to it using my favourite method, dabbing it on with my fingers. ;) Then I used paint daubers to colour the chipboard.
For the Birds in Flight I painted them with liquid pearls and then edged them with a metallic blue ink.
They provide a nice bit of shimmer against the matt of the frame.

Being October I thought it I would provide some Halloween inspiration.
I scrapped these pictures of my daughter looking oh so wicked! ;)

I cut a small piece of the Fencing Wire chipboard and dragged it through
a puddle of orange mist I'd sprayed onto my work surface.

My 'Wicked' title using the EveryDay Font alphabet got a spray
of orange mist and a sketchy black outline to finish it off.

Now onto my wicked Broomstick Witch isn't she cute?
I love the little curled up toes! After painting her black I dabbed some
purple mist onto her dress, outlined her in white and
coloured her face with a green marker.  All of the bats you see in the
layout come in the same chipboard pack as the witch.
I used one of the circles from the crazy circle chipboard sheet
and painted it with crackle paint to create a moon behind the Witch.

My Third and final layout today I created for the October sketch challenge at

The Pink frame is called Lucy's Flourish and it's been sprayed with Dylusions mist.
Four of the Circles from this pack have been covered in washi tape and the rest of the circles were also sprayed with Dylusions mists.

And lastly the cute little Birdcage  which I added some patterned
paper to after colouring it to jazz it up some more.

Well that's it from me today, hope you've enjoyed seeing these chipboard
pieces transformed, and remember my big tip
for today next time you're playing with chipboard.
Cheers, Leonie

SUYS sketch and Amy Tangerine papers.

This is my sample for the October Challenge at Show Us Your Stuff.
The beautiful bright Amy Tangerine papers from the sketchbook range went perfectly
with this photo.

Marelle at SUYS asked me to design a sketch for the October challenge
This is what I came up with.

The Chipboard frame is from 2Crafty as is the bird cage and the circles which i've covered with washi.

I'd love it if you could give my sketch a go during October.

Kraft it Up - October Challenge

The challenge at Kraft It Up this month is
'techniques with misting'
Here's my sample.
I used this photo of my Daughter dressing up in her Granny's Wedding Dress and posing with
her Daddy.

Using a technique with Dylusions sprays called 'ghosting' or 'bleaching'
I sprayed my Kraft base with several different colours.
Then placed a stencil over the base and spritzed with water letting the stencil and water sit for a minute or so before removing the stencil and blotting off the water.
This is the effect you're left with. I also flicked some black mist over the Kraft as another technique.

I used some cute little 2Crafty Chipboard pieces on my layout.
This birdhouse, picket fence and the branch to the left of the photo.

Once I'd added all that misting there wasn't really any Kraft cardstock visible but it's there trust me ;)
I added another backing of Kraft and some Kraft tags either side of the photo though, just to make sure.
Hope you can join in and try some misting techniques this month with us at Kraft It Up

Scrap The Girls - October Puzzle??

Who's up for a puzzle challenge?
Scrap the Girls is having a puzzle challenge this month.
The puzzle pieces that must be included on your layout are:

Flowers,
Two different Alphas,
More than one photo,
and Staples.

Here's my Creative Team sample.

Here are my two different alphas- some october afternoon and some 2Crafty chipboard letters.
And the Staples part of the puzzle is covered here as well to adhere the chipboard letters

This Layout was the first time I've used Faber Castell Gelatos.
Wow talk about fun.
I heat embossed  the flowers onto white cardstock to begin with and then scribbled with the gelatos
and added water to blend them.

Here's a lovely 2Crafty Butterfly.

So think you can fit these puzzle pieces on to a layout- of course you can, easy.
give it a go and link your entry here.
Cheers. :)
